Now serving the Knoxville region for over 30 years, Leadership Knoxville is a 10-month experience that is transformational for both participants and the organizations they lead. Through hands-on experiences, participants fully explore local government, education, economic development and the arts. A skills building program; Leadership Knoxville’s Flagship program offers class members the opportunity to further develop and enhance their personal leadership skills while learning more about the community, our history, opportunities and challenges. With the benefit of new perspectives and connections, participants are prepared to serve more effectively in various leadership capacities across the region.
The program begins with a mandatory Orientation session, followed by a mandatory overnight retreat in August with monthly sessions beginning in September and running until May. The March session is a two day, overnight trip to Nashville to meet with state leaders who are having an impact on policy affecting both our city and state.
Applications are accepted January through March. Approximately 50 community leaders are selected to participate each year.
