What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?
I envision Knoxville being the epitome of a thriving revitalized city from west to east Knoxville and all points between. I see economic development and growth to include an inner city bustling with opportunities, small businesses thriving, and affordable housing not just in the form of low-income rentals. Home ownership will be an achievable option for all. Children will be safe in our city. I want Knoxville to be a place where differing viewpoints, are the intersections of understanding, breakthroughs, and positive change. Knoxville will be the premiere relocation destination.
What is Knoxville's best kept secret?
The people, southern hospitality is real. Knoxville Greenways are another beautiful secret to some. The greenways provide wonderful place for bike rides, walks or runs.
What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?
"Work to provide affordable housing partnerships. Low-income housing is critical. Current market prices make it very difficult for a low-income individual to even think about home ownership. Support educators, increase pay and continue to provide educational opportunities for children. Educate companies on the importance of Diversity and Inclusion. Diverse views bring forth change, ideas and growth. Until all people see Knoxville as a place of opportunity and inclusion, we will not see our full potential as a city."
