LK Class of 2026 Program Schedule
AUGUST 2025 – MAY 2026
Attendance is critical to get the most from your experience. Program days are held monthly; mark these dates on the calendar when you apply. Orientation and Opening Retreat (2 days overnight stay for opening retreat only) are mandatory for your participation. From September through May, only two absences or equivalent hours (16 hours) will be excused. Meeting locations change every month and are based on program day themes. Failure to meet the attendance requirements may result in dismissal from the program.

Dates are subject to change. Participants should allocate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for class sessions. In addition, class members will have the opportunity to complete the following:
- School visit to a K-12 school (Oct. – Nov.)
- Police Ride Along with City of Knoxville Police Dept. or Knox County Sheriff (Sept. – Oct.)
Additionally, each class member will be required to attend two out of four of the following at least once during the class year:
- Knoxville City Council Meeting
- Knox County Commission Meeting
- Knox County School Board Meeting
- City-County Planning Meeting
