In past weeks, I have spoken to high school students participating in academic achievers through the baccalaureate service from Hardin Valley Academy. I shared my personal story with them to help them understand that if I can become a leader, coming from where I came from, I know that they can do it also. Leaders are not born; they’re created through ongoing development. I don’t think there is a genetic link to leadership. Gender plays very little role in leadership potential. Some studies show that females are slightly more effective.
