10 Year Vision for Knoxville
Given the growth in nearby areas such as Atlanta, Nashville and Charlotte, I can see Knoxville becoming the next city of choice for those who want to live in the southern region but do not want to contend with traffic, urban sprawl, high cost of living, and so forth.
What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?
Its people - whether native born or transplants, the people here are generally some of the nicest you will find anywhere.
What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?
Community involvement and mentorship. I would strive to be even more involved in improving the community though both charitable giving and volunteerism via church, social and political activities. Moreover, I would seek to mentor more youth and young adults to become good citizens of the community and remain here hopefully.
What is your favorite Knoxville memory?
My wedding day.
What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?
"Team of Rivals" by Doris Kearns Goodwin.
What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?
An older attorney with whom I worked advised: always remember that everyone you encounter is either a potential juror or client.
What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?
Seize each day and moment, and nurture each relationship because you do not have as much time as you think.
