What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now? A better marriage of industry and tourism. A healthy community needs both. What is Knoxville's best kept secret? It's southern hospitality, displayed by it's people in everyday acts of generosity, kindness, respect, and humor. What would you do to strengthen Knoxville? On our railroads we see over and over again, that healthy industry creates healthy communities. What is your favorite Knoxville memory? Saturdays swimming in the French Broad River and playing on the farm. What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand? I've been avidly reading for 40+ years so I can't say what my favorite is. Currently reading, "The Beauty of What Remains" by Steve Leder. What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor? My dad. Not because of any one thing he has said, but because of how he has lived - as a father, a husband, and an entrepreneur. What advice would you give to your 16 year old self? Stop reading so much and go on more dates.
