What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?
My vision is that Knoxville, and the surrounding region, will be the center for education, manufacturing, science, arts and innovation in the Southeastern United States region.

Knoxville's best kept secret is that Roane State Community College's degree, certificate and workforce healthcare programs educate and train more healthcare professionals than anyone else in the region.
What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?
Infuse higher education into every Knoxville high school and estabish an expectation that every high school graduate will concurrently complete a community college or TCAT credential.
What is your favorite Knoxville memory?
Proposing to my wife aboard the Star of Knoxville.
What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?
My favorite Book is the Bible. "Everybody, Always" by Bob Goff is on my nightstand.
What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?
"Live your life to honor Christ." ... advice given to me by my father.
What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?
(1) Your life's work and your ministry are one in the same; (2) In two years, don't be so nervous about asking Cindy out because she's going to say 'yes'; and (3) Don't get too attached to the hair on your head.
