What is your favorite Knoxville memory?
I ran the Knoxville marathon in 2007. It was a rainy day in Knoxville and at about the 6-mile mark, I stepped in a puddle, soaking my shoe and sock for the rest of the race. It was a challenge but running through the finish line in Neyland stadium was an amazing moment.
What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?
My favorite book is “Team of Rivals” by Doris Kerns Goodwin.
What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?
The best advice my father ever gave me was not in words but through his example. He is patient, kind, hardworking, possesses a love of learning, and always willing to lend a helping hand.

Believe in yourself and your resiliency. Although you will face unfamiliar and seemingly insurmountable challenges; you will not only survive, but will emerge stronger, smarter, and the best version of yourself.
